FAQ's

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro has been rumored to be coming for months now, but there is still no sign of it coming out in the near future. However, the latest leak shows potential final production Mavic 4s in the process of qualification tests.
Jasper Ellens shared an image showing what looks to be Mavic 4 Pro drones on a workbench being worked on. While nothing in the photo shows concrete evidence of these production drones, Ellens has a strong history of his leaks coming true.
Ellens states, “Must be some final quality check before sending them to the promoters. Typical #flagship leaks. Nothing will stay secret on this one.” Promoters could mean media samples for reviews or selected drone pilots who will use it to capture some early images for promotional videos during release.
The Mavic 4 Pro hit the FCC database back in December, which should have meant it would launch in early January. DJI usually releases new drones in the spring and fall, so it wasn’t a big surprise there were some delays, but over two months so far is more than I think most of us expected.
DJI fell into some backlash when it launched the Mavic 3, the first consumer drone with multiple cameras from the company. It had some hefty claims, but many of the most sought-after features were not there at launch. It is assumed that DJI is hoping to not repeat the same mistake and release the Mavic 4 Pro feature complete.
The Mavic 4 Pro is expected to feature the largest battery in a consumer drone, coming in at 95 watt-hours. The drone will also see a return of a triple-camera payload with a wide-angle 24mm equivalent lens, 2.5x 50mm equivalent, and 6x 145mm equivalent. Vertical photo and video shooting modes will be a feature of the drone, just like they are on the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3S. However, we aren’t yet sure if the video format will be cropped in like the Air or true vertical with a rotating camera system like that of the Mini 4 Pro.
Leaked images show the drone’s body taking a more aggressive stance, similar to the Mini 4 Pro. This will improve obstacle avoidance and battery flight time.
Camera specs are still the most unknown. Potentially, the Mavic 4 will see a 6K main camera, but no work on sensor sizes or resolutions for the 2.5x and 6x cameras. It is safe to assume DJI will continue with the “Pro” and “Cine” monikers to denote the higher-end products, with Cine having support for Apple ProRes and potentially 2 TB of internal storage.
